The Spitfire is remembered as one of the most iconic planes used by the British in World War II. It was the most strategically important single-seat fighter for the Royal Air Force and played a large part in the war effort. Its ground-breaking design and superior specifications gave the Spitfire a decisive advantage fighting the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain (1940–41) and became a national hero in itself.
Marking 80 years since the Spitfire first took flight; luxury luggage maker Globe-Trotter has released a limited-edition capsule collection. Emblazoned with a striking desert camouflage print and finished with a contrasting sky blue interior lining inspired by the well-known markings on the planes, the collection includes a 14” utility case, 20” trolley case and 30” suitcase. Each piece is handcrafted in Hertfordshire from vulcanised fibreboard and chrome-plated hardware. The Globe-Trotter Spitfire Luggage Collection is available exclusively in Canada at Betty Hemmings Leathergoods.
